About Hayley Day – Counsellor in Stockport

I’m Hayley, a person-centred counsellor providing a safe and accepting space for adults to explore their thoughts, feelings, and challenges. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or low, I’m here to support you at your pace. Together, we can create a space where you feel heard, understood, and able to move forward, trusting in yourself.
I bring both professional training and personal experience to my work, with deep empathy for neurodivergent individuals and their families. I understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate diagnoses and school systems, as well as advocate for the support you need. Having personally experienced the realities of being a young parent to a disabled child, I also know how isolating these challenges can feel. That’s why I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
Person-centred therapy is about being heard, understood, and accepted just as you are, without pressure or judgment, only support.

Training, qualifications & experience:
MA in Clinical Counselling (3 Years and Placement) | Level 2 Training in Safeguarding Adults, Understanding Autism, Counselling Skills |
BA in Nutrition, Health and Wellbeing (3 Years) | I have one teenager and one adult children who are both neurodivergent, and diagnosed at different stages of their lives, and I believe this is due to my daughter not saying her first word till 5ish. I was a young parent (19), and that came with its struggles. I worked as a senior crisis worker, volunteered at SHOUT text crisis support service, and worked with adults who had many disabilities and communication difficulties. It was hands down my favourite job; we had a great laugh. |
